If you’ve had some credit problems in the past, you owe it to yourself to start fresh. Gwen’s Helping Hands is a credit education and rebuilding program that provides a number of services, to any member of Chicago Patrolmen’s Federal Credit Union, at no cost.
Confidential appointments can be made for day or evening by calling 312-499-8813. Some of the services offered include:
- Assistance with obtaining your credit report if you’ve been denied credit or employment
- Assistance with reading and interpreting your credit score
- Assistance with clearing up inaccuracies in your credit report
- Assistance with rebuilding your credit (especially after bankruptcy)
- Assistance with getting you preapproved for a mortgage
- How to set up a workable budget (download fact gathering form here)
- How to balance your checkbook
- How to save money
Have you obtained your free credit report? You are entitled to receive a free credit report from Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion once a year at no cost. Visit www.annualcreditreport.com to obtain your credit report. The report will not include a credit score but is available for you to purchase it.
